SECTION 01

Introduction

Noor-e-Siddique-Akbar Library is an important educational and information resource established to provide students, teachers, researchers, and other users with access to books, academic materials, reference resources, and modern library services. The library plays a significant role in supporting teaching, learning, research, and the development of reading habits among its users.

Inaugurated on 28 November 2014 By Muhammad Sarwar, former Governor of Punjab.

Since its establishment, the library has served as a center for academic learning and information access. It provides a suitable environment where users can study, consult books, conduct research, and obtain reliable information for their educational and professional needs.

The library has a substantial physical collection of approximately 18,000 books covering a variety of subjects and areas of knowledge. The collection is intended to meet the academic and informational requirements of students, faculty members, researchers, and general readers.

SECTION 03

Library Circulation Services

The Circulation Section is one of the major service areas of the library. It manages the borrowing and returning of library materials and maintains records of items issued to users. The main circulation services include:

  • Issuing books to eligible students, faculty, and staff.
  • Receiving returned books and updating circulation records.
  • Renewing borrowed books according to library rules.
  • Checking the availability and status of library materials.
  • Maintaining records of issued and returned books.

An OPAC helps users determine whether a required book is available and identify its location within the library. It reduces the time required to search the shelves manually and improves access to the library's collection.

RFID-Based Anti-Theft System

An RFID-based anti-theft system provides an efficient and reliable way to protect library books. By combining RFID tags, readers, a database, and an alarm system, the library can automatically identify unauthorized books being taken through the exit. This technology not only improves security but also makes library management faster and more convenient.

SECTION 11

Reading Hall

The Saleem campus library include spacious reading halls for students. The reading hall can include comfortable tables and chairs, proper lighting, good ventilation, and access to electrical outlets for laptops and other devices. A Wi-Fi facility can also be provided to help students access digital books, research papers, and educational resources.
